Grand County Internet Services

How to sign up for services

We are currently working on automating the signup process for you to get internet.  Right now you need to call or email us to have a site survey done before we can schedule you for installation.

We will need the following information when you call or email:

Your full Name

Telephone number(s)

Email address

Physical address

If the building is not completely marked with the address, you need to describe the location and building

Are you renting or own the building

Any other pertinent information such as: in construction, Vacant lot, date need, etc.

SURVEY

We will look at the location on a online map to see if it even fits in our broadcast area. Then we will conduct a physical survey.  This is necessary to insure that it has a good line of sight to one or more of our Broadcast towers.  Trees and low hills are often the problem with finding a good line of sight.  We normally conduct these surveys at no cost but it can take some time depending on our schedules, availability and property location in Grand County.  If you need a faster survey, we may charge for the survey depending upon the location in Grand County.

Once the survey is completed, we will contact you via your telephone and email to schedule an install.

INSTALL

We schedule our installs Monday thru Friday at 9AM.  We leave afternoons open for on site support calls. Only under very special circumstances may an install be scheduled at a different time. It can take up to 3 or more hours for the install.  Our installer is an independent contractor, who has been doing our installs for over 18 years.

If our Installer determines that it will take extra time or equipment beyond our normal $200, he will notify you and get you to sign off prior to starting the install.  If the installer determines that there is a limited spot for the install and you do not agree, there will be an hourly charge of $60 with a minimum of $60. If it is determined that trees need to be removed or that a pole needs to be set, the install may be delayed at no charge as long as a new install date is set with the installer.

When the installer has finished with the install of the router, both you and him should survey the building to see if signal is strong enough for your usage. If there are dead areas, there is an option to install mesh routers to improve the signal throughout the building or sign off that not all areas can be reached.  It is very important to us that you are completely satisfied with the install.

Our installer is an independent contractor and is paid by us only for completed installs.  Once we determine thru the site survey that an install should be possible, then we setup the appointment.  Someone must be onsite to okay the install and fill out the necessary paperwork.  Payment is expected upon completion of the install.  You can setup automatic payments with the office prior to the install or pay with check when the install is completed.

We require that an install application be filled out either prior to the install with our office or signed off and given to the installer at the completion of the install.
