Terms and Conditions
Grand County Internet Services (GCIS) may only be used for
lawful purposes. Transmission of any material in violation of
any US or state regulation is prohibited. This includes but is
not limited to: copyrighted material, threatening or obscene
material, or material protected by trade secret. You agree to
indemnify and hold harmless GCIS from any claims resulting from
your use of the service which damages you or another party.
Use of any information obtained via GCIS is at your own risk.
GCIS specifically denies any responsibility for the accuracy
or quality of information obtained through its network. GCIS
exercises no control whatsoever over the content of the information
residing on or passing through it.
GCIS makes no warranties of any kind, whether expressed or
implied, for the service it is providing. GCIS also disclaims
any warranty of merchantability or fitness for any particular
purpose. GCIS will not be responsible for any damages you suffer.
This includes loss of data resulting from delays, non-deliveries,
mis-deliveries, or service interruptions caused by it's own negligence
or your errors or omissions. GCIS will attempt to provide information
about outages and other information we feel that is of interest
to our subscribers at the following Web Page: http://status.rkymtnhi.com/
We will also send out emails to your account warning
and describing outages.
Use of other organizations networks or computing resources
must comply with the rules appropriate for that network. GCIS
services may not be used for unsolicited bulk email services
, mail relaying, or "spamming".
GCIS or other relevant authorities may determine inappropriate
usage of this account and the privilege may be revoked at GCIS's
discretion. Should this occur, you will be informed in writing.
GCIS may occasionally require new registration and account
information from you to continue the service. You will notify
GCIS of any changes in your account information. You will also
notify GCIS if there is a disruption in service over 3 weeks
in duration, due to vacation, broken equipment, extended part
time residence elsewhere, etc.. Upon notification, we will adjust
billing appropriately.
You agree to the rates and billing procedures as set forth
in the current version of Grand County Internet Services rate
schedule. GCIS reserves the right to change the rates and otherwise
modify this agreement upon 30 days notice to you. This notice
may be via email or posted to our web site. Use of GCIS after
the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new terms and
conditions. Payments must be received prior to usage in any
period. Past due accounts may be disabled until receipt of payment.
Late charges may be billed and restart fees for accounts disabled
due to late payment. You must notify us to cancel your account
prior to any accounting month or may you may incur additional
charges on your account.
1. The wireless equipment(antenna, cable and Radio) and furnished
firewall router belongs to GCIS and must be removed by certified
GCIS installer. Customer is responsible for wireless equipment
and must pay replacement cost ($400) if not returned to GCIS
in working order. Customer should protect GCIS equipment from
power surges through customers power lines. Replacement routers
will be billed at $50 and become customer equipment. If customer
has own router, it may be used, if it has remote management and
will be setup by our installer and configured only by GCIS personnel.
2. If the Customer is moving or terminating service they should
notify us 30 days in advance so we can arrange for the removal
of the equipment. If the Outside antenna has been painted, it
will be considered bought and a fee of $400 must be paid. The
Customer must pay $100 if GCIS equipment is un-installed within
2 year sof installion.
3. GCIS is not responsible for the functioning of the customers
machine, only for the wireless equipment and router furnished
by GCIS. Customer is also responsible for protecting their equipment
from viruses, adware, spyware, trojan horses, etc. GCIS may
provide alternate browsers, email programs, and anti-spyware
and anti-adware but is not responsible for these programs or
their use. Any additional support for them will be billed at
$60 per hour.
4. If a wireless network is being used on premises, the network
may not be an open network and must be protected by WEP or other
means to keep unauthorized persons from using the high speed
network. This applies whether or not GCIS equipment is used.
Due to the instability of wireless software/hardware built into
computers, GCIS cannot take any responsibility for the proper
functioning of customer premises wireless networks or the computers
hooking up to them. Any additional support for them will be
billed at $60 per hour. See our wireless Fair Use Policy

5. If, at Installation, it is determined that Antennas cannot
be grounded, the customer cannot hold GCIS liable of any damages
due to lightning. It is the responsibility oft the customer to
arrange for grounding of the equipment and customers takes responsibility
for any damages if grounding is not finished, including damages
to GCIS owned hardware.
The Terms and Conditions reflect the entire agreement of the
parties and supersedes all prior oral or written agreements and
understandings of the parties. These terms and conditions shall
be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the
State of Colorado, United States of America.
